Tomy Drissi
#11 Ford Mustang GT
2000 Grand Prix of Long Beach winner, Trans-Am Series
Tomy Drissi, born and raised in Hollywood, California, brings road-racing experience to the ACS Express Racing team driving the #11 Ford Mustang GT at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Drissi entered the 2009 World Challenge GT season finale with the ACS Express Racing team at Mazda Raceway in the #20 Avatar Dodge Viper.
In 2009, Drissi won the Trans-Am Series Championship ten years after winning the 1999 Rookie of the Year award. In 86 starts, Drissi posted 47 top ten finishes, 22 top five finishes and two wins at Long Beach and Portland. He has driven both the Ford Mustang and Jaguar XKR in the Trans-Am Series.
During the 2000 season, Drissi scored his first victory on the streets of Long Beach in a Ford Mustang entered by his own team, Drissi/Stewart Motorsports. His team went on to win 2000 Trans-Am Crew of the Year.
While a regular participant in the Trans-Am Series, Drissi also competed in American Le Mans Series (P1 and GT2), Porsche Supercup and Speed World Challenge GT events.
Before professional racing, Drissi raced vintage cars at Willow Springs. He scored wins in 1965 Chevrolet Corvette, Formula 5000 Lola 332, Lola T-70 Can-Am, 1967 Trans-Am Dana Chevrolet Camaro and 1974 Porsche 911 RSR. He describes his first racing experience in motorsports as “street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.”
Tomy Drissi is owner of Drissi Advertising, a firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas. His racing idol is Mario Andretti and his favorite tracks include Long Beach and Monaco. He is married to Lacy Livingston-Drissi.
